Rise in JDM Culture
Car enthusiasts and regular people need cars to get around any Japanese vehicle is reliable and relatively inexpensive to maintain. Taking a Honda for example you can go out and get one for a really good price while also having the option to suit it up and have that luxury car without having to go out and drop hundreds of thousands of dollars..
With the Fast and Furious effects, people have wanted fast-looking sports cars for a good price. Most of the cars in Fast and Furious don’t come stock like in the movies it takes time to build a car in people will bring in parts from aftermarket Japanese sellers to make their cars “better”
What Kind of Market?
From Personal experience, you will be paying a premium for aftermarket cars. Due to how much time the owner or previous owners have put into their vehicles you will have a difficult time finding a car within the range a dealership may give you.
Where to start?
I would recommend either starting with a Honda or any Toyota brand. Highly reliable cars will almost always hold up. I have a 2010 Honda Civic, I will not be putting any time into it due to the fact my car has so much damage as is, but I will be getting either a Toyota Camry or Lexus IS 350 F-Sport next.
